Import a file

Each row needs somewhere to go — a site code from your catalogue, or a full address, never both: a row that names a site takes that site’s address as it stands today. A reference, a package count, a delivery window and instructions are read where they are there. A delivery window needs both ends or neither, and leaving both empty is not “no window” — the site’s own standing window applies. Columns it does not read are recorded on the batch rather than dropped, so nothing goes missing quietly.

An order that arrived by telephone, email or a message has no file to import. Type it instead — it lands in the same pool the accepted rows of a file do. The third way in is a push from an upstream system, which is that system’s to make and has no form here.

SubmissionsEvery submission, kept. There is no edit and no delete — a corrected file is a new submission.
